Product Description
Keep your GMC Sierra 6.2L gasoline or Ford Super Duty 6.7L Powerstroke running reliably with this 2-pack of P550943 fuel filters. Replaces OEM part numbers P550943 25011214 BF782 FF5033 WIX 33124 P553004 and TP943.
A clogged or inadequate filter causes fuel starvation at the pump inlet forcing the high-pressure system (26500 PSI) to work against restriction. Watch for hard starting loss of power under towing loads rough idle black exhaust smoke and water in fuel warnings (P0087 P0191 codes).
For GMC Sierra 6.2L V8 gasoline applications this filter functions as a secondary inline fuel filter maintaining consistent fuel delivery for the gasoline direct injection system. Regular replacement prevents fuel starvation hesitation and maintains the fuel pressure required for proper injector operation. Ford recommends replacement every 10000 miles for heavy towing applications and 15000 miles under normal use. Drain water from the primary filter housing every 5000 miles. The 6.7L Powerstroke has two fuel filters (engine-mounted and frame-rail) — replace both at the same interval for complete system protection.
Installation is a straightforward DIY job. The spin-on fuel filter housing is located under the driver side hood near the firewall with good accessibility using a standard filter wrench. Pre-fill the new filter with clean diesel before threading to minimize air introduction. Apply clean diesel to the new O-ring and hand-tighten plus 3/4 turn only — over-tightening cracks the filter head on some models. Verify the old gasket did not stick to the mounting surface. On the 6.7L Powerstroke use the manual primer lever for 15-25 slow strokes then open the bleeder screw 1/4 turn until steady bubble-free fuel flows. Crank the engine in 5-second bursts with 30-second pauses between attempts. The engine may run rough for 30-60 seconds as residual air purges — this is normal. This 2-pack provides cost-effective coverage for two filter changes or a spare for extended fleet operations.
