Protect your Maserati or Ferrari engine with this direct replacement oil filter cartridge. Replacing OEM numbers 289571 and 280459, this filter is designed for Maserati GranTurismo, Quattroporte, GranCabrio, and Ferrari FF models equipped with the Ferrari-derived F136 V8 and F140 V12 engines.
This cartridge-style filter features an integrated bypass valve calibrated to 10-14 PSI and an anti-drainback valve to prevent dry starts. The heat-resistant filter media traps contaminants to protect precision bearing surfaces from wear. On the tight-clearance F136 V8 and F140 V12 engines, proper filtration is critical — a neglected filter can lead to bearing failure requiring a full engine rebuild costing $18,000 or more.
Installation is straightforward using a 27mm filter housing cap socket. The housing cap must be torqued to exactly 25 Nm to prevent leaks or damage. Always inspect the housing O-ring and replace if cracked or deformed. Change oil and filter every 12,500 miles or annually. Note: Does NOT fit 2014+ Quattroporte or Ghibli 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engines.
